Gyonne Goedhoop is a creator and an all-round womxn who puts in effort to construct new systems. She caters to the improvement of the social sphere, especially for people who experience oppression due to their intersectionality. She creates through her work as a program creator at TENT Rotterdam, Womxn’s work at the Yoni Tempel, Connector of Culture at R’damse Nieuwe, and as a co-founder of Counter/Narratives, amongst other things. Gyonne has a BA in media & culture history.
Maria Luce is a researcher, writer and co-founder of Counter/Narratives, with interests in the field of critical race studies, education, and decoloniality. After working as a criminologist, she is now pursuing an International doctorate in Education through the University of Alcalá (in collaboration with EUR). In her PhD project, she studies institutional racism in Dutch educational contexts. Maria has Masters degrees in International and European law, State- and administrative law, and sociology.
Rowan van der Stelt has a MA in history and is a co-founder of Counter/Narratives. Her work on representations of Dutch slavery in Dutch universities was published by Jonge Historici (and will be republished in 2019). As a historian, Rowan aspires to connect science, personal stories and society. She wants to make people aware of the misunderstandings about the colonial past and colonial heritage. Through collaboration, she aims to create space for counter narratives and break old colonial discourses.
Serana Angelista is a visual and archival artist, who describes themself as a graphtivist (graphic designer + activist). With an interest in social justice, they creates concepts through graphic design, research, and art direction. As a Quare (black + queer) creator they theorizes their bodily archive as a means to right the hyper invisible, who are systemically victimized in white capitalist cis heterosexual oppressive society. Serana has a BA in Fine Arts from Willem De Kooning Academy Rotterdam.
